Aye, I’ma be waiting at the top for you, iight? But you do know you gone have to go through it to get to it?
I am America. I am the part you won’t recognize. But get use to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get use to me. 'Cause you gone be seeing me at the top one day.
When I say I’m heading to the top, I mean it. Because I only know one way to go, and that’s hard. When I tell people all the things I wanna be in life, some may laugh and say I won’t be able to do all those things. But just wait and make sure you be looking for my name up in lights as an author of plenty of books(novels, and poetry), Medical Administrative Specialist (in school for that now), Attorney (ain’t letting go that dream), and Entrepreneur (I don’t know exactly of what yet, but it’s gonna happen, I got a few ideas). I ain’t letting anybody tell me otherwise. Because my future is my choice. It’s out of everybody’s hands except me and Christ. It always seems impossible until it’s done.
So look, the past is a ghost, the future is a dream, and all we ever have is now. So if you ain’t already doing something, go do something with yo life now, real talk.
Close your eyes, dream of places far away
Get away from the nightmares and pain
Unknown regret full of anger
Something inside awakens
The charms and hidden deception
Evil and good become a myth
Fallen angels fix their wings, but never will take flight again
The horror of the nights past
Will it ever end?
I would like to thank the spark
For being my guiding light
Shining softly in the darkness
Like the lonestar that she is
I would like to thank the spark
For inspiring me so much
Just that tiny point of light
Got me where I am now
I would like to thank the spark
For showing me what is love
For casting its light all around
Warmer, brighter than the sun
I would like to thank the spark
For just being there for me.
Did your heart just melt
When you saw
Those precious gifts
Wrapped together so tightly
No bigger than a finger to lift
Or are you now still
Cold and frigid like you were
Because when I look at you
I see a boy
But it's so different
When I look at her
She seems strong and brave
And I know you've never been one
To simply behave
But now it seems
Like nothing's changed
But strangely,
You're a father now
You should be proud
I ain’t got time to sit around and just wait for handouts. Life is just too short for me to sit still. My dream is to not die a dreamer, but to know I made my dreams a reality. So I’m gone make it. And I’ma make it with a bang. You can most definitely believe that. In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.
I feel that risk is a good thing no matter what the situation is. Cause look, to love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure. But risk must be taken. Because the greatest hazard in life is to not risk anything at all.
Knowledge is like a virus that we all should want to get sick from. Knowledge is like a source of food. It’s very important. So now if you don’t understand that, then obviously, you not eating. And that’s that.
We all hide behind the masks that are our laughs
And act as though our tears were never sobbed.
We all smile, although we're choking on the bile
That is steadily creeping up our throats.
We are here, but we want to run in fear
From the troubles that threaten us the most.
We're alive, although we're struggling to survive
Because of storms that have overturned our boats.
But we hope.
We hope, and hope, and hope
Because otherwise, the darkness would bury us alive.
We see light in the bitterness of night
Because tomorrow is a brand-new day to thrive.
A thousand years and counting,
a beating heart and pounding feet
moving through the woods.
So fast, so quiet,
not a word and not a breath.
A thousand fires burning,
fading into embers;
still burning, still burning,
ashes in the wind.
Running for a thousand miles,
a thousand miles and counting.
Drink the whole world through a straw,
so slowly, so slowly;
But there is no time.
Embers at your feet
for a thousand miles at least.
I get up in the morning,
I stay in bed until it's 12.
I get ready for school,
I get ready for a photo shoot.
I get on the bus to get teased,
I go outside to find a limo waiting for me.
I get to school and go to my locker and my sandwitch is crushed,
I get to the studio and get changed for the photo shoot.
I go to class and sit there wondering,
I sit on the fancy chair waiting for everyone to take my picture.
I get my lunch and run into my crush,
I get my lunch and go sit in the V.I.P. section.
I am finally done with school and heading home,
I am sadly done with the photo shoot and going home.
I arrive home to find my favorite celebirty in my kitchen,
I go to someone's house for an interview.
I realize that she is for my mom,
I answer questions she asks me and go back home.
I walk to my bedroom and wonder what it's like to be famous,
I lay there on my bed thinking what it's like to be normal.
When I try not to lose it,
I think of only you.
You came out of nowhere,
but somehow my love for you is true.
I get butterflies around you,
when I don't even know your middle name.
I still have more to know of you
but hopefully my heart you will tame.
The memories we had together
Were short and only us.
Mostly when I had track
and you were waiting for the bus.
I don't know how you feel,
but I hope you feel the same.
If you give your heart to me,
trust me, it won't be a game.
The moment I know best
Is when I told you, you smelled good.
Just to hug you and tell you way up close,
is something that I probably would.
You're an amazing and good-looking guy,
Since the day we first met.
Our hearts need to complete, but I can wait
because I still really haven't met you yet.
dear Anonymous:
I lie on the ground
and stare into space
the stars start to move
into the shape of your face
I see you there now
looking down at me
with that cute little smile
that I like to see
You say "close your eyes,
tell me what you see"
I see only two people
just you and me
We're walking the shoreline
with our feet getting wet
the horizon turns pink
as the sun starts to set
We make love through the night
on that white sandy shore
then I hold you while thinking
I could want nothing more
Oh I wish I could be
in that one special place
as I lie on the ground
and I stare into space.
you are my wish forever my wish love nikki
through the eyes of a child,
the world is a wonderful place.
a magic place, one big playground.
through the eyes of a child,
life's not one big race
they keep it slow, a steady pace,
through the eyes of a child.
with the fingers of a child,
they can paint, tie shoes, and swing.
be a princess, a star whatever they want,
with the fingers of a child
you can do most anything
pick flowers, write a story
with the fingers of a child.
using the mind of a child
you can fly, your dreams can soar
transform, or talk to animals
using the mind of a child
be a superhero or more,
there's not anything you can't do
using the mind of a child.
through the eyes of a chiild,
a window is a whole new world,
looking through things you've never seen before
through the eyes of a child
nothing to worry for
no more stress no more hurt
nothing bad here anymore,
through the eyes of a child.
when you wake up, you're late for school,
wonder if your hair looks cool.
teacher's dumb, grades are bad,
complaining more then you ever had.
you get home and slam the door,
complain your snacks taste is poor.
plop on the couch, turn on the t.v.,
wonder what time your show will be.
your show is canceled, the room a mess,
you hide in your room, full of distress.
don't bury your head raise it high,
stand up straight, and with a sigh,
Just smile! this is your only chance,
slow it down, today won't come again.
share your thoughts, hold a hand,
lift someones spirits if you can.
it's your only chance to live your life,
so push away your grief and strife.
help someone in word and deed,
give your gifts, do not have greed.
you'll be remembered when you are gone,
for the little things that come along.
do your best, and always try,
so when you look back you'll love your life!
swiftly, swiftly,
I fly through the air,
in a world of wonder,
without a single care.
higher, higher,
so fun it could be crime!
with the wind in my face,
a new adventure every time.
harder, harder,
I push, push, and push
for I must touch the sky
I'm flying, soaring, WOOSH!
simple, simple,
and yet so fun between
the ground and sky and seat,
I'm flying on this swing.
The moon floats surely overhead,
in the spirit of the night.
clouds are dancing waltzing there,
doing it just right.
oh the graceful symphonies you hear,
from the birds, wind, trees
pixies skip in the moonlight there,
to bring girls and boys their dreams.
fairies in the flowers laugh,
and elves jump from the trees
unicorns gallop from the woods,
in the moonlight breeze.
the amazing moonlight flowers grow,
and shrink just before dawn,
when no one knows that centaurs pranced,
right on their own front lawn.
early in the morning,
the moon says bye, oh bye
the spray of mist leaves the earth,
and pixies do not fly.
the little children wake and yawn,
for there's not a dream to be dreamt
and all the peculiar creatures,
are now sadly hidden and gone.
