According to the results of our College Quick Poll the overwhelming majority of you plan on attending
college. Based on your responses, SmartGirl learned that many factors will influence your decision about
where to attend college. Here's what you said:

If nothing was a factor what, what would be your #1 choice of college?
The answers to this question were varied, with many of you opting to go to your home state colleges
or places with good reputations such as UCLA, University of Michigan and NYU. Many of you aspire to attend
an Ivy League school such as Harvard, Yale, Brown and Princeton. Some girls chose some less conventional
schools with one respondent saying,
"My dream would be to study abroad, all over Europe. That would be the single greatest thing that would
ever happen to me, if I could study all over Europe." -girl, 15, USA
Another wrote,
"I would choose clown college. There is really one of those, you know. I think it is in Utah." -girl,
USA
A third expressed her opinion about a college's reputation and the type of student who attends it
when she wrote,
"I would choose any type of college that is good and has a clean environment and no 'preppy' type of people
going there." -girl, 15, USA

There were a variety of write-in answers in the "other" category for this question. Many people wrote
that the diversity of the student body, scholarship availability, dorms, school reputation and where their
boyfriend is going are important factors in choosing a college.
Here are some other factors that are important to you:
"Quarter vs. semester calendar is important as is the ability to take classes at other universities and
