What is this show or episode about?

The Sleepover club is about five girls; Frankie, Fliss, Kenny, Lyndz and Rosie. They are all in year seven and have set up a club, in which they 'sleep over' at each others houses. The episodes are basically about the girls planning their next sleepover and discussing how to humiliate the M and M's who are three boys; Marko, Matthew and Michael, who are always trying to cause problems for the Sleepover Club. It is set in Australia(Crescent Bay) and is very cheesy. All the girls seem to live in mansions, except for Rosie who lives in a smaller house by the beach.

How frequently do you watch this show?

Every time it's on, I'm glued to the television

Do you like the plots or stories of the show? What do you like or dislike about them?

I think that all of the stories are very predictable and none of the characters seem to be able to act. However it is still entertaining to watch. I think the only plot that we get into is when Kenny thinks she is leaving Crescent Bay- 'Fight for Kenny' This is a two part plot and shows the girls saying gooodbye. This definitely the best acting we see from Kenny. Another interesting episode is the final one 'End of an Era'. This is the only one that contains any depth. We finally see the girls get interested in boys, as Rosie and Kenny meet two guys who they start seeing. The other girsl are shocked and hurt when they find out, but they do resolve their arguement and we feel like the girls are moving on and growing up and as we leave them we wonder if the sleepover club will survive throughout their school life. Each episode begins with a narrator,( one of the sleepover girls), who introduces and concludes each episode. This doesn't really work as they are never actually exciting or funny, they just give us a chance to laugh at the girl's terrible acting.

Is there anything you would like to see happen in the story of the show right now?

As there was only ever one series of the Sleepover Club, i would like to see a second series. I would really like to see a secret romance blossom between Frankie and Matthew as they realzie that they have feelings for each other. This would be funny as they are always arguing and the other sleepover girls would be horrified at this news! I would also like to see some of the girls lose interest in the club, thinking that they are too old for a club,( As lets face it it is a bit sad!). Hopefully they would solve this problem by changing the way they go about their 'club'. They could start having house parties and could even start sneaking out into town.

Who are the main actors and actresses on this program, or the people who star in it?

Basia A'Hern - Lyndz Collins Ashleigh Brewer - Alana Ashleigh Chisholm - Felicity Sidebotham Ryan Corr - Matthew McDougal Blake Hampson - Michael Collins Stefan La Rosa - Marco Di Pieri Caitlin Stasey - Frankie Thomas Eliza Taylor-Cotter - Rosie Cartwright Hannah Wang - Kenny Tam Annalise Woods - Sara

How would you describe the acting?

OK-nothing spectacular though

Do you feel like you know the characters in the show personally, or that you can relate to the characters or people in it? Who is your favorite or least favorite?

The characters created by Rosie Impey (author)are all quite realistic and we can all relate them to someone we know. We can also see that Rosie is meant to resaemble the author( as the tv series was based on a set of books written by Rosie Impey). This is because Rosie plans to be an author when she grows up, she has lost her mum (like the author) and she also has a disabled brother(like the author). Rosie would probably be most people's favourtie sleepover club girl simply because she is the coolest and the actress Eliza Taylor Cotter is the only character who can act. Kenny is quite a disappointing character, it may be because of the actress, but Kenny's role in the club seems pointless, although she is the 'sporty one' she doesn't really get any storylines except for when she might leave the club. We cannot really like Kenny as we never get to know her. And I have to point out the appallingly bad acting skills displayed by Tom (Lyndz' brother) and Will (Rosie's brother). Not only can they not do the accents (some episodes they are english, sometimes australian) but they cannot act to save their life. (Tom's lip singing)

What age group would most enjoy watching this show? Any ages who wouldn't like it or shouldn't watch it?

I think that the Sleepover Club is mostly watched by 9-16 year olds. Although younger people would be able to follow the shows. Although i am 17 I am obsessed with the show (I know its sad), but I think 15+ can watch it to just laugh at the dire acting and predictable, sometimes stupid plots. (The one where they try to save Mr S' beach hut. Why would that concert change his mind? And why did they add that ridiculous storyline with Tom and his terrible band?)

Do you know any interesting facts about the show, its actors or creators?

It was based on the books by Rosie Impey, but some more characters have been added. Lyndz(Basia)has appeared in several television advertisements including a cream cheese commercial and a commonwealth bank commercial in Australia. Basia is actually from england and was in a film called 'Dont Blame Me' Fliss-(Ashleigh Chisolm) Nickname: Barbie and Chizbum Favourite colour: Pink surprise Favourite food: anything(except avacado) Favourite singer: Delta Goodrem Favourite band: Red hot chilli peppers Idol: Jack Johnson Loves: anyone Boyfriends: none Hates: people that hate people and terrorists Personality: party animal and always loving Hobbies: acting, dancing, surfing and hanging with friends Inspiration comment: 'If you reach for what you want, you'll get it. She has also appeared in Home in Away as Jenelle. Matthew (Ryan) - starred in the silver sun as Sheng zammett and appeared in Scooter: Secret Agent Michael (Blake)- is 14 years old and he auditioned for the starring role of 'Harry Potter' and came close to being picked but sadly failed. Frankie (Caitlin)-Name: Caitlin Stasey Birthday: May 1, 1990 Star sign: Taurus Born: Australia Height: 157 cm Nickname: Cat Pets: A cat, Bindi How old were you when you first started performing: About six or seven What is the best thing about your job: Everything - the work, the people Why did you want to be an actor: Because it just looked like so much fun Do you have any siblings: Sister Victoria, who's 11 Do you have a boyfriend: Yes Career highlight: Everything about The Sleepover Club Favourite clothes: Brand labels like One Teaspoon, Golf Punk, Dangerfields Likes to eat: Chocolate Likes to listen to: Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan Favourite movie/video: A Walk To Remember Favourite book: Feeling Sorry For Celia Favourite holiday destination: England, because my family lives there. Funniest moment: When I was running around a shopping centre with a few friends, in my big baggy jeans, and I tripped over right outside my favourite shop. The worse thing was that the guy I liked at the time saw the whole thing. Rosie (Eliza)-She's about to turn 16, is mad about boys, has rather questionable fashion sense and loves nothing more than a great party. We're talking about Ramsay Street's latest addition - the extrovert Janae Timmins. Descending on 26 Ramsay Street with hey younger sister Bree(Sianoa Smit-McPhee), Janae is fiercely protective of her family, which also includes brothers Stingray (Ben Nicholas), Dylan (Damien Bodie) and mum, Janelle (Nell Feeney). At 15, Melbourne year 10 student Eliza Taylor-Cotter was thrilled when she landed the Neighbours role. Having already notched up a part in the children's series Pirate Islands and a guest role in Blue Heelers she was more than ready. "I was so excited when I got the role," she says. "The chance of getting something like this seems so small." Eliza filmed a guest spot in Neighbours some time ago, and had auditioned for several major roles. "I actually auditioned for the part of Lana (which went to Bridget Neval)," she reveals. "You have to take it all as experience and move on when you don't get a role." As Janae, Eliza gets to do things she would never really do. "Just the other day I had to scream at my TV mother and say, 'I hate you! I hate you!' I came home to my real mum and said, 'Aren't you glad I'm not like her?'" She is also quick to point out her wardrobe is nothing like Janae's rather revealing one. That said, she admits: "It's so much fun being able to walk around in tiny skirts and knee-high boots and strut my stuff, which I'd never really do." March 24, 2005 It is confirmed that Eliza will make her first appearance as Janae Timmins on Neighbours on the 4th of April 2005. Kenny (Hannah)- has starred in Beastmaster as young Kyra- Vahalla. She also appeared in Dr Jekkyll and Mr. Hyde.

What, if anything, would you change about the way show is written, staged, or produced? Do you like the way the characters talk, what they wear, what the set looks like, etc.?

I would not like the show to be changed too much if there was to be new episodes. The poor acting and the cheesey storylines are what makes the show and I don't think that viewers would enjoy it as much. However a few minor changes could be made. Their accents could all be improved so we're not left wondering why the characters are suddenly Australian, when there meant to be english. The music could also be changed to maybe a famous pop song as the musci at the moment is dull and does not relateto or improve the scenes. Some of the scenes are good so a good souundtrack would do the actors justice. I wouyld also like to see more serious plots that are actually interesting; more romance or fights between the girls.

Do you have any other comments about yourself or the program that would give us a better understanding of your review?
