When I saw the cover of Skin: The Bare Facts by Lori Bergamotto, I was skeptical. I thought it would be another one of those books with useless opinions and so-called facts about how to take care of the skin. I was wrong. To write this book, Bergamotto interviewed teenagers who have the same skin concerns you have, then she interviewed medical doctors to have those questions answered. This book covers things from the facts about skin itself to the way to beautify it based on specific skin types. One strength of this book is that it is an easy read. It’s not densely packed with words making it so boring and tiring that you’d rather just keep the pimple you were trying to learn how to get rid of. Instead, the even distribution of words and pictures makes it reader friendly. The descriptions of what you need to do for certain skin concerns are cut and dry. There is no unnecessary information in this book. I believe that everything you read will be useful at some point. As I stated before, you won’t read anything excessive, but that was based on what the author thought might be excessive. Someone might have questions unanswered after reading. I read some parts of the book that made me wish Bergamotto were here so I could ask for a deeper explanation than what was written in her book. Overall, Skin: The Bare Facts gets the job done. I recommend this book to anyone who has random skin issues and wants something handy for quick and simple remedies. I would recommend this book for any teenage girl to use as a skin handbook. If this book were small enough to fit into a purse, I’d carry it with me. by SmartGirl Reviewer Quari, June 2010 SmartGirl comments: Be the first to comment! Just fill out the form below.
