Game Content

What was the game/program about?

This is a massive online role-playing, pay-to-play, game. It's set in the world of Norrath, broken into several continents. Faydwer, hosting High Elves(Koada'Dal), Wood Elves (Fier'Dal), Dwarves, Gnomes, and even some Half-Elves. Antonica, hosting the Humans, Dark Elves (Tier'Dal), Ogres, Trolls, and what do you know, more Half-Elves. Odus, hosting only the Erudites, it is the smallest of all the land masses. Later, with the addition of Kunark, another continent, the Lizard men (Iksar) were introduced. The came another Continent, Velious. The last expansion, Shadows of Luclin, brought to us, the interesting race of cat-people, Vah Shir, situated on Norrath's massive moon, Luclin. Each race has different starting stats, and can be some of the classes available (Druid, Bard, Cleric, Enchanter, Necromancer, Warrior, Shadow Knight, Paladin, Wizard, Magician, Ranger, Rogue, Monk, Beastlord, and Shaman). The game is widely popular because people join together on quests and other adventures all over Norrath, and Luclin too, of course.

What was the best thing about it?

Being able to interact with others makes the game very enjoyable.

What was the worst thing about it?

You need a lot of RAM if you want Luclin [for the new models, which are always optional], and if your computer is slow, you might experience some bad lag. Although, I am on a 56K and it's not too bad.

Was it hard to understand? Was there a useful help section or instruction book?

The game is intimidating when you just start off, it has a bit of a steep learning curve, but with a little bit of help from other players, or the guide book, you'll get the hang of it in no time.

Play Quality

How long can this game keep you occupied at one sitting?

The game can be addicting, a person can sit for hours on end just chatting it up or 'camping' MOBs [monsters] with great loot.

How did you feel about the pictures/graphics?

Graphics were greatly improved when SoL [Shadows of Luclin] was introduced, although, classic graphics weren't the worst either.

How did you feel about the sounds/audio?

Some cities and areas have some very interesting melodies playing in the background, but the sounds and music tend to cut out sometimes. Over all, I'm not displeased or impressed.

Was it easy to install?

I had no problems installing this game, you just have to be prepared for a bunch of patches to install, this can last up to hours, being patient was the hardest part.

Do you have any other comments about yourself or the music that would give us a better understanding of your review?

EverQuest is worth it, if you can afford the montly pay-fee.
