What was the game/program about?

Riven is the sequel to the computer game Myst. In it, you must rescue Catherine, the main character's wife, and capture his evil father, Gehn. Along the way, you solve tons of mind-boggling puzzles. There are six different endings to this incredible adventure game!

What was the best thing about it?

You have to really use your brain to get through Riven! I got stuck on so many of the puzzles. Also, it is non-violent, gore-less, and has no sex scenes or nudity.

What was the worst thing about it?

There are certain places in Riven I would have liked to know more about. Also, I would have liked to meet more people in the game. In Riven, you encounter five.

Was it hard to understand? Was there a useful help section or instruction book?

Riven is hard to understand if you've never played Myst or any game like it. There's a book called "RIVEN: The Official Strategy Guide," which gives hundreds of hints that can really save your life if you're stuck.

How long can this game keep you occupied at one sitting?

One day, I spent about 5 hours straight playing Riven! This game is SO addicting. If I hadn't told myself to quit and do something else, I would have played Riven for the whole day! 

How did you feel about the pictures/graphics?

The graphics in Riven are the best I've EVER seen in any computer game. When you see an ocean, the tiny waves in the water move! This game is extremely beautiful. I wanted to print every single screen out on paper! 

How did you feel about the sounds/audio?

Riven's sound is also top-notch! You can hear beetles buzz, levers click, and doors open and close. The music is also awesome! Sometimes I've had Riven songs in my head for a whole day! 

Was it easy to install?

It was very easy to install because there is a "Setup Wizard" on Disc 1 which led me through the installation process. Riven didn't freeze on my computer, although some players have reported error messages or freezing when they played it.
