What is the book about?
Catherine lock is a kick-a** girl who's bullied at school and doesn't get on woth her mom. So, she goes to her boring dad -- but he's not boring. He's an 'art restorer,' stealing back stolen art. Catherine becomes his apprentice and makes a cool friend called Ollie, but all the adults ignore them. When a famous painting goes missing, they reckon they can find it better than the adults.
How does the title relate to the storyline?
The Birth of Venus is the name of the famous painting that gets stolen.
How does the author present the story?
Catherine is really funny. She's always thinking things that the reader knows is silly or wrong.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why?
It's funny and full of action.
Why did you decide to read this book?
I like action books like the CHERUB books and Ally Carter and The Mediator books.

There is swearing in it and Catherine does think about teenage stuff like drinking and sex, so not young kids.
What is one memorable quote, moment, or theme from this book?
"Art restorers my a**". That is a very funny quote when Catherine is just working out that her dad and his friends aren't really boring art restorers. There's lots of funny stuff in it.
