Describe Your Dream Room
Looks like some of you SmartGirls have a future career in interior decorating! When we asked you to explain what you would change and how you would decorate your room, we had some really amazing and imaginative responses. Here are a few creative ideas that we recieved from SmartGirls:

I would want the theme to be Paris because I love the French culture and I speak French. I would also love it to be romantic, quiet, peaceful, and private. I would want it a lot of different colors, mostly rich colors like greens and reds and purples. I would buy a walk in closet, my own bathroom, a balcony, and a computer!

The interior designer I would choose would be Vernon Yip. I would like to have my room be a music paradise. I would want it to kind of look like Peyton's room from One Tree Hill, and have glass bookcases with a cabinet door to hold my CDs. On my walls, I would have band posters, band tickets, and band merchandise. My bed would be a round bed that looked like a CD, and have a strobe light on the ceiling. I would like to have a great sound system and karaoke system, and maybe even a stage so I could pretend that I was a singer. On another wall, I would like to have a mural of all my favorite bands, like My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars and Panic! at the Disco. My room would be the place for music lovers.

There would be an entire actual size replica of Jacobs Field, home of the Indians for me to play baseball in! Then there would be another room kind of in my room where I would have a waterbed
Forget the interior designer thing. I want my room to be my own creation even if it looks like two-year-old did it. I would change the size of my room first. I would make it much bigger. It would not be square; my room would be in the shape of a cross between a circle and a triangle (whatever that may be). My dream room would be bright red with a bright blue ceiling and I would have light hardwood floors. There would one huge window overlooking imitation resort backyard. My bed would be huge and there would be a white comforter with cherries on it. The curtains would be black and white stripe. There would be a huge TV and an over stuffed white sofa. There would be a vintage jukebox with every song I liked on it. There would be place for me to jump around like an idiot on uppers for when I'm on a sugar high. There would be an ice cream bar complete with cherries, hot fudge, whipped cream, bananas, strawberries, chocolate chips, coke (for floats) and a mini-fridge filled with Dr. Pepper, sweet tea and cherry coke. I would also have a place for me to just contemplate my existence and when that got boring I would ride on my private carousel.
I would change my wardrobes and desk first into something more funky and I would buy a huge tv and stereo system with a DVD player and tons of DVD's and a chill out settee and been bags and make it modern and funky.

My room would be beautiful, tropical like the Caribbean, and relaxing like a spa!

I'd buy a dark wooden upright piano for playing music. I'd have a dark wood four-poster bed with deep red and gold bedcovers, which I could then match with the curtains, as well as sofa cushions and rugs to go on my dark wood floor. I'd have floor-to ceiling bookshelves right along one wall, and an old leather-topped desk with an old-fashioned lamp. Then I'd modernize and customize the room a little with black and white photos and my favorite possessions.
I'd decorate first. A lovely fluffy carpet and a beautiful, nature scene painted on the walls. I'd have two walls a daytime scene with grass, hills, sunshine, and flowers. I'd have the other two walls a nighttime scene with all the stars and my favorite constellations (The Great Bear, Orion and Cassiopeia) in view. The room would have to have a skylight so that I could see the stars when I lay down to go to sleep and an east-facing window so I could get lovely morning light coming in. There would also be a fairly big west-facing window, with a window seat so I could watch sunsets. There would be a small balcony, with a seat and telescope on it. I would have a big bookcase for all my books and plenty of space for more and a nice, cozy bed. There'd be a walk-in closet, but with doors painted to match the walls, so it wouldn't be obvious it was there. The television and DVD player would be in a secret hole in the wall, which opened to reveal them when I wanted to use them. The desk would be in an alcove, along with a comfortable armchair.
I'd change the color of my dull walls. It would look like a cool hangout. I'd buy bean bag chairs, i-pod, FM/AM radio, canopy bed and a secret passage way.

The first thing I would change is the size. My dream room would look like Time Square in New York. I would buy all kinds of fun things for my dream room!

First I would change the color to the colors that I picked. My dream room would be old-fashioned and modern at the same time. I would have different genres of art all over my room, from Muse posters to African masks. Like I said, it would be VERY random!

My dream room, well, I'm in the process of redoing it right now anyway, but I would paint my walls black. I would do a old Hollywood type/theme...my best friend is a really good artist...I'd have her make a mural of the Hollywoodland sign on my wall, and I'd have music notes everywhere...that would be my dream room.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us!
