My hypothesis
Girls read for fun more than guys.

The predictor
Gender

More girls took the survey than guys

Statistical Measures

Mode: female

The outcome
Amount read for fun

Not lots of people read outside of school assignments for fun, but most people read 1-3 books per month

Statistical Measures

Median: 2-3 books per month.
Mode: 2-3 books per month.
Mean: 3.97, Std. Dev.: 1.83

Interpretation
Girls read more often than guys, so I proved my hypothesis correct. My p-value was less than .05, so my experiment probably did not happen just by chance. Therefore, I conclude that girls do read for fun more than guys do.

Girls did!!!

Statistical Measures

t=7.16, p < 0.001

Evaluation
The relationship is the same as I predicted. The female bar is higher than the male bar on the graph. My p-value is .001, which is less than .05, causing the relationship between my predictor (gender) and my outcome (howmuch) to be statistically significant.

Summary of findings
I found that girls read more often than guys. I noticed that in my school, whenever a book is assigned, guys complain more than girls about it. I also thought that this might have to do with the fact that a large percentage of teachers are women, since that job requires a ton of reading.

Conclusion
If I could change this survey a little bit, it would be to give out a flyer survey to everyone in my community to see if the results were the same with a more varying response. This way, there would be different ages and reading levels than the online survey.
I would also ask random kids outside exercising, to see if people that exercise more often read as much as people who are obviously on the Internet.
