Anticipation!
Everyone has holidays they look forward to! Some holidays have lots of presents, food, good company, and more! With these things in mind, how much do you guys actually look forward to celebrating the New Year? Is it the most exciting event of the year, or is it like going to the dentist?

Let's take a look!
How exciting is New Years?
The Kiss
The Kiss. The big one. The one you see in all the movies. Everyone kisses and ends up happily ever after. What about you? A lot of people associate kissing with New Years.

The first graph shows who has been kissed on New Years before. Look... over half of you. So that means, when you think you are the only one not smoochin' on the New Year, you know you are not alone!

The second graph here shows how many of you think you are getting kissed this New Years. The numbers look pretty equal, but we can see that more than half are not sure they are going to be kissed. 89 of you even said you don't want to be kissed! So, maybe this squashes the whole "everyone gets kissed but me" theory!
Have you...been kissed?

Auld Lange Syne!
Part of celebrating anything is with the music! We asked you guys how well you know the song Auld Lange Syne, which means As Time Goes By. We found that a few of you know all the words and almost half of you are at least familiar with the tune. It's a tune about remembering good friends, and the ones we have lost touch with. Everyone has those people in their lives, so it's an appropriate song on a day where you can start fresh!

Promises, Promises
A lot of people make New Year's resolutions. They are a way for people to reflect on how they treat themselves and others, and give people a chance to make their life and the lives around them a little bit better. A lot of us have a lot of things we want to change, but how many do we actually make into resolutions?
How Many Resolutions Do You Make?
But how long will it last?
Resolutions are good! But we all know they can be hard to keep. We asked you guys how long you kept your resolutions, and the numbers show that you do a pretty good job! Some of them are really hard to keep, but still others of you have kept them for a long time! Awesome!
How long do you keep the resolutions?
What do you resolve to do?
This is a really popular question! We had over 1,000 responses! There are a lot of different kinds of resolutions. A lot of people want to get along better with parents and siblings, keep their rooms clean, or get better grades. Here, we have broken down what the respondents said when we asked what kinds of things did people resolve to do in past New Years?
Over 300 responses each were made about wanting to change or better your habits, be healthier, and do better in school! That's awesome. Over two hundred of you wanted to get along better with family, be nicer, and practice more. As you can see, people are really motivated!

Other responses varied, such as watching less TV, losing or gaining weight, not lying, being closer to God, treating friends better, and some of you didn't have any.

Hangin' Through the New Year
We were curious as to what fun things you can do on New Years around you? When we asked if your city has festivities, 188 of you said yes and 124 of you said some. So, that means almost half of you have some sort of fun things to do where you live for the New Year. Cool. 180 said no, but 204 said you weren't sure. This shows us that a lot of you have opportunities to have fun things to do! Awesome.

We asked if you actually join in the festivities! 253 of you said that you join in anywhere from sometimes to all the time. Another 231 said you do not join in such festivities, and 216 said there are not any to join in! So, of the people who had festivities in their town, just over half of you do get down and join in!
Most of you told us that you spend celebrating the New Year at your house. The next most popular place to hang is at a friend's house. It really does show that family and friends are the people to be with to celebrate!

The Past... and the Future...
Part of New Years is reflecting on the year that passed and looking ahead to the coming year. We asked how last year was for you, and what you think next year is going to be like... An overwhelming majority of you told us that the past year has been all right or better.

For the next graph, we asked you to predict the coming year... and most of you are very enthusiastic and optimistic!
How did the last year treat you?
