Can a person be ideal? Is it actually possible to be perfect? Why or why not?
The word "perfect" is often considered whatever the society describes it as. I believe that it is impossible to be "perfect" in every way, but everyone is perfect in her own way. You set your standards and goals for yourself, and when you meet them, that is when you are a "perfect" person. Whoever you want to be is just perfect.

I think that the only way a person can be 'ideal' is if they see themselves as ideal and don't mold themselves into being what society thinks they should be.

No person in this world could ever be perfect for the fact that everyones definition of perfection is different.

Perfection is boring. It might exist, but I sure as heck don't want it. It's our quirks that make us interesting.

People can be perfect, but theyd be annoying.

No. You can get very close to perfection, but we're all human beings and, as hard as we might try, we'll never be perfect, because there will always be some flaw in us. The true way to measure one's self is the capacity to which you can rise above your flaws and make something great of yourself in spite of it.

Picture this: What if it was possible to attain perfection through genetic engineering for yourself or your children (prior to them being born)? What would you do? Do you think that it would be right?
I dont agree with being able to make your perfect child. People are what they are and if we were all the same, the world would be a very boring place. There is only one exception; if someone could have made George Bush smarter before he was born then perhaps we wouldnt be going to war!!

I would not genetically engineer my child to be perfect. I do not think it is right. In fact, I think the fact that humans make mistakes is what unites us as family and friends. People would not know good from bad if there was such a thing as perfection. And if there was no such thing as bad, people would not see "good" as a valuable quality.

I would not attain perfection through genetic engineering for my children or myself - I don't think this is right. It would put both myself and my children under pressure, as people would always have this high standard for you - even if you COULD be perfect in every way, you wouldn't want to HAVE to be perfect in every way.

No way, that is messing with Mother Nature and it is completely wrong and awful. When we're born we are all perfect, we haven't been smothered with views by the media or anyone else. Because we do not think much when we are babies, we can't be bad. My point is, if we were all practically the same, really beautiful, great at everything, smart, kind, loyal and popular, life would be very boring. There would be no individuals.
