"fashion worry
I find it hard to keep up with the latest fashions. I try but I don't always have the money. My friends always do and it makes me feel left out and like they think they are with someone really uncool. I also really worry if the clothes I wear look okay, and I get really worried if someone says that they don't like somthing I'm wearing or if I don't think it looks good enough. I don't know how to stop worrying about this because I have lots on my mind at the moment. Please help me stop worrying!"

Save up your allowance or start babysitting or doing odd jobs at home to earn money. When you have enough saved up, purchase some nice basic clothes (like a pair of jeans, a cute sweater) that don't go out of style. Buy ones you really feel great in and that you can mix and match to make multiple outfits. Then you're spending your money on quality clothes that look good, feel good, are really useful and will last! |

Instead of shopping at the mall, look for places that might provide better bargains. Outlet malls often carry fashionable clothes at a much cheaper price. Also try thrift stores. It's amazing what people get rid of. They're great places to go to create cute outfits for a really low cost. It's all about being creative! Looking good doesn't mean wearing super expensive clothes. |

How you look has nothing to do with clothes and everything to do with confidence. If you pick your head up, square your shoulders and carry yourself tall because you know how beautiful you are, that's what people will notice. If you wear a shirt like you love it, other people are going to love it too! |

You don't have to follow the fashion trends to look cool. In fact, you can keep things pretty simple by coming up with a signature look of your own (or borrowing one that you like!). That may be always featuring one accessory or always wearing a certain jacket. Whatever it is, by adopting a signature look, you look cool but only wind up spending money on one item. It's effective and cheap and really allows you to use your clothes to express yourself. |

Rachel, Don't worry. Those cool fashion trends are so last year. Start your own. All you have to do is buy a bargain outfit from Target or something and change it. Instead of wearing a silk belt, use it as a tie.
If your friends can't deal with the clothes you have then maybe they aren't really your friends. Real friends have your back and don't care what you look like just as long as you are nice to them. Real friends wouldn't think of you as uncool if you didn't wear the latest fashions. They should like you for you. I definetly don't have the money for cool clothes and my friends do, but they don't make fun of me. If your friends don't like how you dress then tell them to deal with it. Don't follow the crowd make your own style. - Tori,12
Dear Rachel, Think about it. If your friends make you feel left out or as you say, "uncool" then they are probably not good friends. I mean, what kind of friend would say or think that you were "uncool" because of your chothes???? Hannah
Try wearing your own clothes and things you can afford. You can start new trends that way!
