"Am I Fat?

I think I'm fat but everybody else says I'm not. Even my grandma says I'm fat. I just don't feel right in my body. Just to lose weight I stop eating dinner. My mom says that it's baby fat and when I get older I won't have any baby fat. I just keep thinking about it and every time I do I feel like crying because all my friends are slim and I can't look good in a swim suit or anything! What should I do?"

13% Remember that everyone comes in different shapes and sizes. There is no perfect body type. Embrace your difference. Variety is what makes the world such an interesting place!
8% Instead of worrying about the people in your life that say negative things about you, focus on all your friends and family who think you are perfect just the way you are. After all, who can see the real you more than the ones who love you the most?
12% No worries! Most girls' bodies do not finish developing until their late teens, early adulthood. You may feel awkward in your body now but over time it will pass.
9% Nothing can help you feel better about your body then putting it to work! Grab some of your best buddies for a walk, jog, or a competitive game of soccer. The exercise will help build a stronger, healthier you while allowing you to hang out with your favorite people.

  • Talk to your doctor. If she recommends a diet, then go with it. If she doesn't, then don't worry about your weight. Everyone is different and that is what makes life interesting. You are a great person, on the inside as well as on the outside; you just have to make yourself believe it. Tiara, 10

  • I'm the same way. I couldn't figure out what to do. But then I accepted myself. Plus if you learn to accept yourself for who you are then there is no reason to feel fat. That?s what I did. I now feel great because I didn't give into the world around me and now I'm my own individual. Instead of skipping dinner try to eat 5 small meals a day. It works a lot better. Try being you; you never know what can happen.

  • Try to aim for healthy, not thin. Just eat healthy, and exercise. You will probably lose the fat as you get older and start growing more anyway.
