"Influencing the World

I'm a girl of 14 years. I am good at education, sports, music, dance, etc. My problem isn't a crush or anything. My problem is the world around me! The violence, pollution, cheating, etc. are affecting me a lot. I want to do something to prevent them. I know that I can't do that all by myself, but people don't listen to me. I don't know what to do for this - I just want them all to be prevented by some means. Some people in some groups say that they will help but when they come in front of the tasks, they bend their heads and shy away. I want the world to get changed. I want it to be peaceful. What can I do to help?"

5% Use some other form of communication to raise awareness and shed light on important issues. Organize a performance show in your community using music, dance or anything else to communicate what is happening and how it makes you feel. Talk with other people, and find people who feel the same way to help you.
5% It's not worth getting worked up over issues like this. The experts are busy taking care of them, so if you want to make a difference, focus on your schoolwork so that you can get training and become one of the experts some day. Trying to do anything right now would just be a waste of time.
21% If you can't find a group of people as passionate as you are about changing the world, why not create your own? Put up flyers and talk with people in your school and community in order to find a group of people who are as committed as you are, then get to work! Make a list of goals and projects to get you started and watch your group grow.
19% Use your words to motivate others! Write letters to the editor of your local paper, write articles for newspapers and magazines (in your school, your community or your country) or create your own 'zine to distribute to people you know. Words can be very very powerful.

  • You can start off with something small like a fundraiser and make your way up!

  • Wow! You have definately got so much passion that's genuine. Now that's a total gift. I'm sorry that others don't feel the same way as you, but you can help. First you need to focus on one area. This might be hard, but you can't do everything. Second, try and find your inner peace. Remember there are good people in this world and look at the positives. Try volunteering at a church, soup kitchen. You can even donate some canned goods to your local food pantry. Good Luck!

  • You first need to do some things by yourself and the people that really care by doing the following: picking up trash, recycling, walking instead of driving in a car, etc. You could also get an adult that knows some things about these problems to come to your school and talk. This may persuade people to even just do some little things to help our world be a better place. That is all I know you can do right now.

  • Hey I feel the same. I get really sad about the war in Iraq and alot of the other stuff in the world. But theres also a lot of good things in this world. Friends, family and shopping (haha) Thanks and goodluck. KK 10
