Instead of expecting your parents/guardian to give you an allowance, I think you should offer to do extra work around the house if they will pay you. All the little odd jobs and tasks (such as doing the laundry, cooking dinner, doing the dishes, cutting the grass) can add up. You will have found a great way to make money and your parents/guardian will be happy they don't have as much to do around the house! |

In my opinion, it's ridiculously hard to find a job at this age, so don't even bother. If you really need money, try asking your parents/guardian for an allowance or see if you can borrow money from them now and pay them back later. And come on, who really wants to get a job if they don't have to? |

I think that the easiest thing to do would be to start up your own mini company. Pick something you're good at doing or you know you can do easily (babysitting, walking dogs, raking leaves, cutting grass) and advertise yourself as an expert to family and friends! Then watch the cash flow in. |

I hear that different places have different laws that decide how old you have to be to get a job. You should jump online and check out what the age is for your area! If you find you can be employed, look for a job that is within a distance you can travel to on your own or talk to your parents/guardian to see if they would be willing to take you to work. |

Dear smelly family, I've been in the same position! But what I did was do chores for my mom and dad or another relative and I would get about $15-20 a week! How great is that? Just my opinion, Laurie-Ann xox
I think you should get a job. try something easy like babysitting and cutting the grass and other yard work. Maybe see if your local pool could give you a job for child minding. Maybe, if you want to commit to it, run on over to your local food store and see if you could get a job there. Don't forget to look in the job wanted pages in your newspaper! Sometimes people are willing to have younger kids do the job as long as they can do it right.
Well, I'm 12 and I babysit. As long as you like kids, it's a fun job!
I'm 13 and to make money I babysit. All you need to do is take a course at a near by community centre and plus it's free. I charge 5 dollars an hour for an average of 10 hours a week!!-roxy
I would suggest washing cars for 5 bucks a piece. I do it all the time and I earned 100 dollars in two weeks! And I didn't even wash cars everyday of the week. You can charge extra for vacuuming and waxing. I usually charge 3 for wax and 2 for vacuum. suggestive friend, 14
I think it might be hard for you to find a job because of your age. At the moment you're too young. But maybe you could do a paper route, you get paid every week and might even get tips from kind people if they want to. Or you could wash cars or walk dogs. As well as doing hard work, you can make it fun too, why don't you get your friends involved too!!! Your have a great time. Good luck. From Katie.
If you're not able to find a job, do something to ensure that you will have one in the future. Like volunteering at the YMCA or a local hospital where you'll surely get a job when you reach of age.
Try babysitting! It's fun, you get to know people, you can bring your friends along to help and best of all you get paid! Give it a go ;) Good luck xxx
I think you should chose what you think is best. Are you independent? Then maybe you should try to put together a babysitting club. Or you could make jewlery. If your parents won't give you an allowance, don't fuss. Instead ask them if you can do chores in return for a smaller amount of money.
Try taking a Red Cross course, then babysitting. It's a great way to make money, especially if you like taking care of kids!! -Lily
