"My best friend is gay. Everyone on our floor kinda has some clue that she's gay. The
problem is people are thinking that I'm gay too! Just because she's my bestfriend and I hang out with
her. What do I do? I don't want people thinking I'm gay when I'm not, and I don't want to hurt my friend."

Your sexuality is your own business. If your friends don't believe that you're
not gay, then it's their problem. Try and find more accepting and trusting friends. |

If this girl is your best friend then talk to her about how you are feeling.
Perhaps she can tell your floor-mates that you are not gay. |

Make a joke about the situation to your friends to break the ice and to shed
light on your sexual orientation. |

- Having gay friends does not automatically mean that you are gay and in this day and age, people should be well versed enough to know better. Has anyone said that you are gay or implied it in any way because of who your best friend is? If not, maybe you are jumping the gun and are actually feeling uncomfortable about the situation yourself, not about what other people are thinking. But if someone is implying that you are gay because your best friend is, be honest, upfront and forthcoming. Simply state "I am not gay" and go on your way. That person is not worth your time anyway.
- I think you should just ignore every one else you and your friend both know your not that way and actually that is all that matters don't let anyone else think that they can hurt you don't give them the satisfaction of ruining your life.
- HELLO? Like, she's your best friend and friendship is way more important than what other people think. Admitting to people that you're gay takes guts and it sounds as if you're mate has definitely got some, innit! Imagine how she would feel if you turned your back on her now? Who gives a sugar coated smartie what everyone else thinks? You stick by your mate, at least you know the truth sweetie! Smile y'hear?
