Forensics is bringing evidence to a court. Many forensic scientists work at crime scenes to determined what happened. Computer forensics is collecting data and evidence from computers (maybe even broken ones) to bring to the court during trials. Computer forensics is becoming more and more important because more people own computers and computer crimes are becoming more frequent.

Salary

Computer forensics salaries range from about $50,000 to over $100,000 per year depending on education level, experience, and location.

  • Computer forensic Investigators generally get a degree in a computer/information security related field
  • Some schools have specific program for computer forensics

Work Environment

Computer forensic investigators work mostly with government related offices, but can also work with private businesses.
